1. About these terms
Last updated: 24 August 2026. These Terms & Conditions govern use of VikiniMataEtha, purchases placed through the platform and related delivery, payment, warranty, return and support services.
Acceptance
By using the platform or placing an order, you agree to these terms and the policies linked from them. If a product listing or checkout shows a more specific condition, that condition applies to that transaction to the extent permitted by law.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by applicable Sri Lankan law. Nothing in them excludes consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Electronic records
Orders, confirmations, invoices, notices and other records may be created and supplied electronically where permitted by law.
2. Marketplace and seller roles
VikiniMataEtha may sell products directly and may also enable identified third-party sellers to offer products. The seller shown for a product or order is responsible for obligations allocated to that seller by law and these terms.
Accurate listings
Product titles, variants, prices, warranty status, stock, included accessories and material specifications should be presented accurately. Obvious errors may be corrected, but a customer must not be misled about the actual purchasing price or material terms.
Seller responsibilities
A seller must have the right to sell the goods, provide accurate information, supply safe and lawful products, honour applicable warranties and cooperate with delivery, returns, refunds and customer-support processes.
Platform support
VikiniMataEtha provides marketplace, order, payment-reconciliation, customer-care and fulfilment tools. Where we are also the seller, our seller obligations apply directly to us.
3. Accounts and acceptable use
Users must provide accurate information and use the platform lawfully.
Account security
You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity under your account unless unauthorized use is established.
Prohibited activity
Do not misuse the platform, interfere with security, impersonate another person, submit false payment or claim evidence, manipulate reviews, infringe intellectual property, or use the platform for unlawful transactions.
Reviews and content
Reviews should reflect genuine experiences. We may moderate unlawful, abusive, irrelevant, fraudulent or privacy-invasive content, but we do not remove a review merely because it is negative.
4. Prices, stock and order formation
Before confirming an order, customers are given an opportunity to review the cart, selected product variants, prices, discounts, delivery or pickup charges and the available payment method.
Displayed price
The actual purchasing price is the price confirmed through the checkout flow, subject to lawful taxes and disclosed charges. Material pricing errors may result in cancellation and prompt notification before fulfilment.
Stock and variants
Adding an item to the cart does not guarantee stock. For variable products, the selected model, wattage, size, colour or other variant is part of the order record.
Order acceptance
An order acknowledgement confirms receipt of the order request. We may refuse or cancel before fulfilment for stock failure, obvious pricing error, fraud or risk concerns, prohibited goods, inability to deliver or another lawful reason, with appropriate communication and refund where money has already been received.
5. Payments and verification
Only payment methods actually shown at checkout are available for that order. Current launch methods may include Bank Transfer, Cash on Delivery and payment at Store Pickup.
Bank transfer
Use only the bank details and order reference shown through the platform. A customer-submitted transaction reference does not by itself prove payment; payment is treated as verified only after the relevant bank transfer is checked and confirmed.
Cash on Delivery
For eligible home-delivery orders, the customer pays the delivery representative. Higher-value COD orders may be subject to reasonable confirmation or risk controls disclosed before fulfilment.
Store Pickup
Where Store Pickup is available, payment and collection conditions are shown before the order is confirmed. Payment may be recorded when the customer pays at the store.
Invoices
A final paid invoice is made available after the relevant payment event is confirmed. For COD, customer invoice availability may begin when cash collection by the delivery representative is recorded; merchant settlement from the courier may occur later and does not change the customer payment date.
6. Shipping, delivery and collection
VikiniMataEtha uses approved third-party courier and logistics partners for home delivery. Delivery methods, charges and estimates are shown or calculated before order confirmation where applicable; the assigned delivery partner may vary between orders.
Address and contact accuracy
Customers must provide a reachable primary telephone number and accurate recipient, address, city, district and delivery information. An optional secondary number, landmark or delivery note may be provided where useful. Incorrect or unreachable information may cause delay, another delivery attempt or return-to-origin handling.
Delivery estimates and attempts
Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed. Delivery attempts, operating days and service availability can vary by delivery method, assigned delivery partner, destination, public holidays and operational conditions.
Failed, refused or unreachable delivery
If delivery cannot be completed because of customer unavailability, refusal, incorrect information, courier operational failure, force majeure or another recorded cause, the shipment may require another attempt or return to origin. We do not automatically charge every failed delivery or RTO to the customer; any reasonable re-delivery or return adjustment depends on the actual cause, disclosed policy, evidence, applicable rights and an auditable decision.
Cancellation after dispatch
After a shipment has been dispatched, cancellation may require a delivery-partner recall and cannot always be completed immediately. A return-to-origin process may be required, and any reasonable handling adjustment will be assessed under the applicable cancellation and refund rules rather than applied automatically.
Transit damage and evidence
Transit damage is handled separately from product warranty. Report visible or discovered delivery damage as soon as reasonably possible through the available order-support flow. We may reasonably request product, outer-packaging and shipping-label photographs. Please keep the original carton, shipping package, labels and internal protective materials until the transit-damage case has been resolved where reasonably possible; missing packaging does not automatically remove statutory or other applicable customer rights.
Operational limits and restricted goods
Delivery may be affected by weight, volumetric size, service-area limits, prohibited or restricted goods, weather, road conditions, public events, security incidents or other circumstances outside reasonable control. We will not treat an internal courier rule or liability limit as an automatic limit on customer remedies unless it is lawfully and expressly part of VikiniMataEtha's customer policy.
7. Cancellations, returns and refunds
The Returns & Refunds Policy forms part of these terms and explains eligibility, inspection and refund handling.
Cancellation before dispatch
Where practical and appropriate, an order may be cancelled before dispatch or before the fulfilment process makes cancellation impracticable. Any prepaid amount due back will be processed through an appropriate refund method.
Return reasons
Damaged, defective, incorrect, incomplete or materially not-as-described goods may qualify for return or other remedy subject to the Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable law. Change-of-mind returns apply only where expressly offered for the relevant category or listing.
Inspection
Returned goods may be inspected to confirm product identity, condition, accessories, packaging and the reported issue. Inspection does not remove statutory rights.
8. Warranty and after-sales service
The Warranty Policy forms part of these terms. Product pages identify the seller and whether the commercial arrangement is VikiniMataEtha Warranty, Seller Warranty, Manufacturer Warranty or No Additional Commercial Warranty, subject always to mandatory legal requirements.
Warranty activation
Where a product has a VikiniMataEtha-managed warranty, customer coverage starts from confirmed delivery or collection. Courier cash settlement does not delay the warranty start date.
Serialized products
Serial or unit identification is an administrative traceability step. If it is entered after delivery, it is attached to the existing warranty record and does not postpone or reset the customer warranty period.
Seller and manufacturer warranty
For Seller Warranty, the identified seller is primarily responsible for performing the commercial warranty it advertised, while VikiniMataEtha may facilitate evidence, communication, dispute resolution and enforcement. Manufacturer Warranty follows the named manufacturer or authorised service process.
Mandatory protections
A No Additional Commercial Warranty label does not exclude any warranty, guarantee, safety obligation or remedy that applies by law or by an applicable Consumer Affairs Authority direction.
9. Buyer protection and complaints
Use official platform workflows and retain order, invoice and payment records. Contact support promptly when a problem arises.
Good-faith investigation
We may review order data, seller records, payment evidence, courier events, photographs, serial information and communications to resolve a complaint fairly.
External redress
Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from using rights or complaint mechanisms available through the Consumer Affairs Authority, courts, regulators or other competent bodies under Sri Lankan law.
Fraud and abuse
False claims, fabricated evidence, abusive chargeback activity or attempts to obtain duplicate remedies may result in account restrictions and lawful recovery action.
10. Liability, intellectual property and changes
These terms should be read reasonably and subject to non-excludable legal obligations.
Reasonable limitation
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable from the transaction. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Third-party services
Couriers, banks, communications providers and identified sellers may have independent terms and legal responsibilities. We remain responsible for our own obligations and do not use third-party involvement to avoid mandatory consumer duties.
Intellectual property
VikiniMataEtha branding, site design, original content and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Third-party trademarks and product materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Policy updates
We may update policies to reflect law, operations or features. Material changes apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise, and existing completed transactions remain subject to rights already accrued.
